Anyone following this story? There is a female reporter for Azteca TV, she's very attractive, and was at the Jets practice this week. Apparently she is upset because she felt 'uncomfortable' on the sidelines. She was mad because the players were making comments, whistling at her, running in her direction. She was also upset because players were naked in the MENS Locker Room.

Does anyone else think this is a bit silly on her part to be complaining about this? C'mon!

The Jets organization issued an apology, so "something" must have happened that was unprofessional, inappropriate, or however you want to describe it. :confused3

The owner of the team issued the apology most likely to save some face since the reporter decided to make this a media matter. I saw her being interviewed on ESPN and she was smiling and saying the guys were whistling and saying "Oh my god." Okay??

What do you mean, "Okay??" :confused3 Are you directing that at me or are you asking if the described behavior is okay?

Nope I'm not directing that at you. I'm saying Okay? because I don't understand the big deal of the whole situation. I understand this behavior obviously wouldn't fly in Corporate America but the sidelines of a football practice area with male professional athletes isn't exactly Corporate America. And it doesn't sound like anything horrible happened.. I'm sure this has happened to Erin Andrews a million times and she takes it like a sport because she understands the nature of the business.

I believe this is also the woman who wore a wedding dress a few years ago during the Super Bowl media week and proposed to Tom Brady. I'm not condoning what happened to her, but it's kind of hard to take her seriously as a journalist after that.

Not that she was asking for it, but when you wear the tightest jeans available along with a tight t-shirt, and have a figure that won't quit, well then you can expect a comment or two. She was not wearing "Mom Jeans" and an oversized shirt. Again, not that she was asking for it or that I condone it, but you have to look at the whole picture.

This was from one of the practice days.

She will be on the Today Show in a little bit this morning.

Men need to learn to keep their comments to themselves, if for no other reason than to protect themselves from accusations of harassment. And frankly guys, we aren't impressed, enthralled or flattered when you whistle, cat-call or make comments. It makes you look like a jerk.

Seriously? If she wants to be treated as a professional reporter, she needs to dress like a professional reporter. I'm watching her on GMA and she's showing a whole lotta cleavage for this interview. She needs to take some responsiblity for the response she gets from others.

You want to be treated like a professional, you dress professional....

You want to be treated like a tramp, you dress like a tramp......:confused3

It is my understanding that she was not the person who reported the harassing conduct. Yeah it made her uncomfortable, but she didn't say anything. She got a phone call from the Jets organization because someone else reported it. I don't believe she even heard all the comments.

Wearing tight clothes does not give any neanderthal the right to ogle. Keep their comments to themselves.

BTW, has anyone listened to her speak? She seems less upset about this than the media is. She even just said to Meredith Viera that she doesn't consider it sexual harassment.

Man she must have been making the rounds on morning shows today because I just saw her on the Early Show. Just caught the very end and wonder what was going on.

No, she wasn't.

You even watch the interview?

I'm a huge Jerry Seinfeld fan, and your comment reminded me of one of his famous bits.

Men are not subtle — men are obvious. Women know what men want. Men know what men want. What do we want? We want women! It's the only thing we know for sure: we want women! How do we get women? Oh, we don't know that. After that first step, we have no idea. This is why you see men honking their car horns, yelling from construction sites; these are the best ideas we've had so far.

:rotfl:

:thumbsup2 I work on a trading desk and have for years. I wear business suits. And yes, I did have to tell a young attorney the same thing once. You think they might have mentioned in law school that having your ****ies hang out of your suit is not a good look in the professional world.

Just saw the pic at practice. My gawd she is a mother of three and looks that great! Wish she'd come to my practices!

As others have already said...it's not her that's making a big deal out of it. Sounds to me like some of the guys made comments to each other and another (female) reporter overheard. So I don't think this is sexual harassment, we all know the way guys talk to one another is drastically different than the way they talk when they know women are listening. (Usually, and hopefully anyway.) Shoot, rather than sue them, just let their Mama's know.

Guess that depends on exactly what was said.
I don't see anything wrong with guys whistling, making comments, or staring at a woman who is clearly trying to get as much of that kind of attention as possible.
As you pointed out, she isn't upset about it and doesn't consider it harassment.

She got what she wanted in the first place....exposure! Making the rounds on the TV morning shows is a hard-ship? Doubt it. She probably is loving the attention!
