Report on Tevas and fanny packs

Hello all! I've learned so much from everyone these last few weeks, I just wanted to share.
In preparation for our trip, I've been making the family go to local amusement parks for the day to try out all the stuff I've learned (our kids don't know about our WDW trip). The fanny packs with water and snacks worked quite well - we didn't hear a "I'm thirsty" or "Can we get something to eat?" until well after 2pm!
I got Tevas for dh (Terra-Fi) and myself (Pretty Rugged), WalMart ones for the girls and OP ones for my son. We walked just a little over 5 miles yesterday (got a new pedometer, too!) at Six Flags America and everyone's feet were very happy! DH didn't even break in his Tevas and he has all kinds of foot problems. We'll definitely be wearing these in the parks - no soaked sneakers from water rides, no wrinkly, wet feet at the end of the day! :D

I was glad to read your post because I just bought Tevas for my DH for Father's Day! I have a pair and just love them and thought DH would really benefit from a pair as well when we go to WDW in October! He didn't look very impressed when he opened the gift but I'm hoping that he'll realize their worth when we're walking in the parks! Your post reassured ME of their worth so thanks for that!

My daughter and I live in our Tevas. You can get them wet, no problems. No blisters. I really need the arch support so I have the more expensive ones, but wouldn't leave without them.

So, I feel kind of foolish, but I'm intrigued by the idea of not wearing sneakers that will get soaking wet. I've always been afraid to try anything else though! What are Tevas and where can I get them? Thanks for any response - we leave in less than 3 weeks! :D

Thank you, WishingOnAStar! I will check those sites out. I appreciate the advice! :D

I tried on a variety -- and decided I liked the Stratum, myself. The Terra-Fi had too much arch support (!) for me, and the other (cheaper) varieties had none at all. But I limited myself to the canvas kind because I like the look of them a little better than the leather.

YMMV.

Our local retail Sports Authority has a 25% off on Tevas. They don't have every style, but they did have a good variety. My feet liked the Spoiler (Pretty Rugged were very comfortable also!). My DD (who wears womens size 8) found a brand called Rafters were comfy for her. Our feet are happy now! :D Thanks so much for the advice!

I can't wear Teva's to save my life. My wide foot and shape of my foot makes them very uncomfortable.

My husband just got a pair and loves them.
I got a pair of Ecco's I am loving.

I also have a wide foot and have difficulty wearing many types of shoes. Several pairs of Tevas I tried on, I could tell would hurt after several hours. The Tevas called "Spoiler" fits my foot perfectly! And I've been wearing them for about a week now, breaking them in for the parks (2 weeks and we're there!); and they are as comfortable 8 hours later as when I first put them on!

What are Ecco's and where do they get them?

Thanks for the info, Clotho. I don't think I'd have ever found them on my own!! :D
