My family is booked on the 2 week repo east bound cruise with transfers. We are flying in a few days early to visit Disneyland and have booked a few nights at the Hojo. My questions:
Does anyone know anything about the transfers to get us to the boat?
Where is the Magic docked and how far from Disneyland?
Any other helpful hints about this trip?
I am a fanatic about planning ahead. thanks

Welcome! Come join us on the CA to FL Ship of Fools thread! Izzinmac had made arrangements with HoJo's prior for some great deals for DISers on this cruise, as well as transportation possibilities. Go to thread 297 and look at winotracy's index. If you do not find it, PM me and I'll look for it.

See you on the thread!

i'm not sure - i just got off the phone w/dcl/castaway club and asked them some of the same questions - all the cm could tell me was that the transport was from lax - but she also did tell me that they are still working on plans - i think that with all of us preplanners if we keep asking questions and then confirming our travel plans with them they will change (or add) new things for us - she also said that they are still in the planning stages with shows, dinners, etc. - i asked this because i was looking for how many change of clothing we would need - but there were no firm plans as of yet - and one other thing i thought of - the plans for the west bound cruise may be diffent than the plans for the east bound cruise because they will know what will work for 14 days (and they will learn from the 10 day this coming holiday)

Since I knew nothing about Calif, I booked the whole package thru Disney. We will stay at one of the Disneyland hotels and our air package included all transfers.

Since booking, I have found out that there are several private limo services (similar to those in FL). DCL is still working out their transfer stuff, so don't know if their transfers would be a possibility for people who didn't book that way initially.

I'm really glad (in some ways) that we are on the eastbound--they will have had the summer to work out transportation issues and had the westbound to work out any bugs in the 14 day vein. After the recent 9/28 hurricane cruise, I want the next one to be smooth from beginning to end!

Welcome to the "Ship of Fools" Regarding shuttle info, there is a group of us starting to form up that will get a shuttle from HoJos to the port. HoJo has given me the name of a shuttle service, and depending on the final # and shuttle bus size, we can get rates from about $19 to as low as $11 per person. I did have a post discussing that and special HoJo rates we can get. Basically, HoJo is giving us 15% off! Don't know how you made your reservations, but take a look and maybe you can cancel and rebook to get the savings. The link below will give you the page my post is on. Scroll down to the HoJo update. Also, the link to the lower cost HoJo reservations is there. Hopefully this helps!
