I played golf the other day and it poured on us. I had my AP in my wallet and it got drenched. Needless to say, it's not useable anymore. I leave for WDW tomorrow and was wondering where I can get it replaced. Is there anywhere at my resort I can get it, or do I have to go to a park?

Thanks!

Are you sure it's ruined? My daughter's has gone through the wash before.
I'm not sure about getting one replaced at a resort, but several times mine has been demagnatized, just went to guest relations window and they got me a new one.

Yes, I can't even get it out of the little holder that you get with it. I've already ripped one side of it trying to pull it out. :guilty:

this is something that worries me as well...living in So. Fl. you never know when rain is coming...would they be able to transfer the AP to plastic card type passes? (I think that would be the best thing for them!) they could have a design seperate from the Resort keys/ Passes to help avoid confusion.

You do not even NEED to have the old AP with you to get a new one issued.

Just take your legal photo ID to the Guest Relations window outside any of the theme parks.
They can issue you a new one (and void the old one, just in case) in SECONDS.

That's one of the best advantages of an AP... its SO easy to have it replaced if it gets lost, damaged, or you just forgot to bring it with you that day.

(Hundreds of tickets get left in the FP machines, too... AP's are a snap to replace if that happens.)

Literally, they can print a new AP(s) for you in under 60 seconds.

Wow. Thanks for the info!

If you can - take what is left of the annual pass to Guest Relations when you get it replaced.

Sometimes the computers that the CM's use can still read a ruined mag strip -even though a turnstile will not. Either that, or the CM's may be able to read the manual code off the card.

Often times, it is faster to be able to have the old AP in front of you than it is to find the current AP in the computer via name. If your daughter has a common name ( Jane Smith for example ) - there may be several other Jane Smiths, and they'll need to search through one-by-one to find the correct birthday and address. This may only take 2 minutes - but punching one key on the keyboard, punching in the code off the card, and hitting enter takes about 20 seconds.

so if possible, dry it out and take it with you. If you can't - they can still do it via photo ID, it's just a slightly longer process.

depends...

If you have your card with you and they can scan it in the keyboard, about 10 seconds.

If you have your card with you and they have to punch in the numbers manually, about 20-25 seconds.

If they have to use your photo ID, and you are the ONLY (insert your name here) in the computer, and it's your first annual pass ( or you've always gotten a AP Renewal before it expires ) - then it'll take about 45-50secs depending on how long your name is.

If you have somewhat of a common name, or have had numerous stand alone AP's ( meaning you never got the Renewal rate ) - then it may take a minute or two.

Horsefeathers!

It may take a minute or two?
Like THAT matters in the grand scheme of things.

You seriously are splitting hairs over it taking 60 seconds or 120 seconds?

:rotfl2:

Robo - I know it sounds silly, but let me just say "I have experiance with replacing AP's" - and it may be from the other side of the window ;). I always tried to make sure I was as speedy as possible. You would be surprised at how many people don't like to wait a minute or two for a pass that they themselves buggered up, but don't mind waiting an hour in line. :lol

In all reality, by posting that CM's DO like it when you bring your pass, it may save a few DIS guests time, and make things easier for the CM's they encounter.

I was posting about replacing an AP when it was NOT POSSIBLE to have it.

Left it at home, left it in FP machine, "dissolved" in water, destroyed in a fire... whatever.

The point was (and most guests don't know this) that all the AP info is in the computer cross-referenced by their name and other personal info.

So, even if the AP was not available, it can be replaced.

Whether it takes 60, 120, or 284 seconds to do it is not nearly as important as knowing that it CAN be done, and is done every day, many times a day.

Everyone thinks that their problem is 'unique' and don't realise that Disney serves MILLIONS of guests every year, and can help them with many issues that might arrise as they have handled them before. :thumbsup2

Oh definately, and the Guest Relations CM's see it all, and replace it all. I do remember some guests being pleasantly surprised that it could be pulled up at all, let alone so quickly. I just wanted to let everyone know that it can be even quicker, which is why I said "If you can - take what is left of the annual pass to Guest Relations when you get it replaced." - If being the operative word there.

You'd be surprised how many different stories I've heard about how annuall passes have been destroyed. Some that I would rather not have heard - and others like "my dog ate it, my cat ate it, it got washed away in the hurricane, blew away in the hurricane."

I've lost my pass and so has my DW. We blame it on Rose and Crown Pub. In any event, just go to Guest Relations, and they will fix you up in no time at all.

Shouldn't be any problem. My son lost his Fl. PAP sometime since last Sept. they told him just to bring his ID and go to Guest Relations and they'd fix him up with a new one.
