Replacement Droid Parts?

Has anyone ever gone back to replace a broken part on their droid? Shortly after we built our son's BB unit, we discovered that it couldn't roll very far without rolling itself open anytime it rolled on the seam, even on hard flooring. It basically cracks open like an egg every time he plays with it. I'm wondering if I bring it back if they'll let me swap out just the shell of the main body for a new one in the same color. I know toys break but it seems like this was a flaw in the early design of the droid and I'm wondering if they've improved it since we bought it some time ago.
