Repeating Rides?

I've been twice with my DD who's now four. I'm not sure about everyone else, but for us, over the last two trips, we've spent about 8 days at the MK...and we still haven't seen the whole park! :lmao: Our last visit she discovered Pirates of the Caribbean. There was never a wait, so each day, I think we'd ride it six or seven times in a row :goodvibes She tends to re-ride the ones she likes, and if we get to new ones, we get to them, but it is not a priority. And I'm at the parks to watch her and enjoy the experience alongside her, so I'm not in a big rush to see everything all at once. I figure when we get around to everything else, it'll still be there! :thumbsup2 Enjoy your trip, it will be pure magic!

P.S. Make sure you leave plenty of time for hanging out at the resort...my DD actually likes her time around the resort just as much as her time in the parks!

So if all you veterans can remember back to your preschoolers very first visits, did they usually want to ride things more than once or were they more interested in seeing what else DW had to offer?

Re-riding is not just for preschoolers. I rode POTC 3 times in a row and 1 time the previous day on my last visit. However, when I was a child, my parents would have never let me repeat a ride. This question reminds me of the Jon & Kate plus 8 episode when they went to WDW and one of the boys was having a fit because he wanted to ride Dumbo again. Kate drug him by the arm out of the line and told him that he had to be with his dad for the rest of the trip.

The rides we did more than once: (with Dh, DS6, DD2-she didn't do Star Tours)

Buzz Lightyear
Peter Pan
Pirates

Star Tours
Toy Story Mania

Yes, we just went with my DD3 in Sept and she loved Snow White. We rode it 3 or 4 times. We rode Peter Pan twice, It's a Small World 3 times, Pooh 3 times, Carousel twice and saw Mickey's Philarmagic twice. She also rode Magic Carpet rides twice. Also Barnstormer twice! Thankfully, she didn't want to ride Dumbo more than once as the line for that is usually nuts!!!! Definitely expect to do the rides in Fantasyland more than once! DD also liked to do lots of different rides, she'd always say "what's next?", but then say "I want Snow White" and off again we'd do it!

Preschoolers?!?!?! It's the ADULTS that want to keep riding their favorites over and over! Sometimes it is just SO difficult to drag them from their favorites!

Seriously, sometimes it makes sense to ride something twice - and save teh walking time, sometimes it makes sense to come back to a favorite later - fatpass attractions - and sometimes it makes sesne to encourage all to move onwards - Dumbo (esp. since Aladdin, Astro Orbiter, and Triceratops Spin are basically the same ride!)

WhenI was little, WDW used aticket system -so riding something twice meant eliminating something else.

Some of my childhood favorites are still among my faves: PotC, HM. I also loved IaSW, CoP, and the Tiki House (old version)...and one of my faves that's now long gone, "If You Had Wings..."

I heard this conversation between a mom and her 3 year old while riding the monorail to the MK...

Today we're going to see a Mickey movie!

Pooh. Wanna ride Pooh.

We'll see Winnie the Pooh at breakfast! And we're going to meet Tigger!

(happy and excited...) Ride Pooh!

No, we're not going to RIDE Pooh. We rode the Pooh ride yesterday, remember? Today we're going to ride NEW rides!

Pooh! Mommy, Pooh!

No, we rode Pooh yesterday. Today we're going to see a Mickey movie! Do you want to meet Mickey Mouse?!

POOH! I WANNA RIDE POOH!

We're going to ride Dumbo today! It is going to be very fun! And we'll see a Mickey Movie!

...and on it went.

That kid knew what she wanted. The mom knew what she wanted. The mom thought she was being pretty slick trying to talk the kid into being excited about not doing what she wanted to do, but the kid was not buying it. She held on to Pooh like a dog with a bone.

And like so many brief encounters, I have no idea how that ended up.

Last year, my 5 year old did want to reride favorites. We did not reride everything and only rerode things 2 times per day but faves for her were the Tomorrowland Speedway, Splash Mountain, Dumbo, and Toy Story Mania.

They do love repeating things! One year DS just wanted to ride Spaceship Earth over and over again. Another year we had to ride the Haunted Mansion several times once he got over his fear. Do expect repeats.

Well, everyday my niece wanted to ride Winnie the Pooh. If she asked and we were at one of the other parks then I had to tell her we weren't at that park. You would think that at almost 6 years and her second trip she would know what park Winnie the Pooh is at. Especially when that is where we spend most of our time at MK.

You know it's bad when the CM's recognize you. They let you in without having to show your KTTW card again at EMH. Or when you are sitting on the ride without having to get off. That's right, we did that both Sunday EMH nights. I'm sure we have the record for the most consecutive rides on Winnie the Pooh! I asked a few CM's and they thought the record was 6 or 7. We did that on the first EMH night. Our record for one day-17 rides of Winnie the Pooh (not consecutively).

Oh, it was difficult to get rid of all those Surprise Fastpasses to Mickey's Philharmagic. I finally found someone with a large group to take them off my hand.
