We are going on our 3rd cruise in March. I was wondering if anyone knows if the castaway club return cruiser gift is still the beach towel? I thought maybe they would change it after the new year. Any recent cruisers know?

Can't wait to set sail!!:) :) ::MickeyMo

I was on the "BigRedBoat" in May 1993, but that doesnt count as a repeat cruiser. I know it wasn't Disney but they did have the Disney characters onboard...they were hired by Disney.

We will be 2nd time cruisers in October...hope it is still the beach towel, because can't imagine what they would give that would be more useful.

It's been the beach towel and pins for awhile now...prior to that, it was a picture frame.

The Big Red Boat does not count as a repeat cruiser. That was Premier Cruise Line, and was not hired by Disney. Premier actually "hired" the Disney characters. When that contract expired, Disney declined to renew it, and Premier negotiated a contract with Looney Tunes. Sorry.....but DCL is infinitely better!

We are Castaway Club members first sailed in'99. We then did a cruise in '01 and they did have it on record but received nothing. Sooo.. should i be getting one this time as i will be on the Wonder in Dec. I'm going solo but am i correct in thinking that the CC mebership covers both me and my DH or should i ask my TA to get one in my name.

Actuallly between the picture frame (which we never got) was a nice small duffle bag (with water bottle). We got 2 of those and now have 2 beach towels. Hopefully they will change gifts before we cruise again in December. The last change (I think) was for the Western Ignagural in May of 2002.

There is the beach towel

It used to be a picture frame

It als used to be a small black duffel w/ water bottle

And my favorite return cruiser gift was a big light blue tote with a white bottom (which had a zipper and a secret compartment). It had the classic DCL logo on it. I till use it all the time and love it.

mhelsly.....you should have gotten the gift items when you sailed a second time. Definately call your TA and make sure it is noted on your ressie that you are a repeat guest. If the CC number is in your spouse's name you can get one in your name as well, just to be safe. Have your previous sail dates handy to give your TA to give to DCL....saves time.

We have a family of five and technically each one of us has our own cc number, but we always use mine, since I do all the booking. If one other member of our family sailed without me, I think they would have to use their number, but not sure.

We are going to be going on our second cruise in October. We are a family of 4 and each of us has a number. Do we only get one gift per family or does each member get a seperate towel? It would be nice if everyone gets one so no one is fighting over the one towel.

One more small question are the gifts in your room or do you only get them if you check-in at the CC Desk. If it's at the desk it might explain why we didn't get it. We did a land/sea package and it didn't require checking in at the port. Thankd for your help.

only one towel per stateroom, but we did receive two pins. They were on the bed when we entered the cabin, along with our gift from Dreams Unlimited. Looked like Christmas all over again!!

You should get your gift no matter where you check in. Often, the line is shorter at the regular lines than at the Castaway Club check-in, so a lot of people probably choose that option.

We'll have two connecting staterooms for the four of us. Should we expect a Castaway Club towel and two pins in both staterooms, for a total of two towels and four pins?

Hey Horace~
as long as there is a CC member in each of your rooms, I would imagine you'd get gifts for both rooms.

This was my first ever cruise, but my daughter is a CC member, I'm not sure if it's just two pins per cabin or a pin per person as there were only two of us.

We got one towel, but two pins for out two kids. Or did they give us the two pins for me and my DW.

Have to fight over the towel. :)

Chatty, I also went on the BRB (package of 3 days WDW and 4 days on board.) Those were the days. Still can't think of the name of the "private island" where they had a contract for their guests (getting off the transportation boat to Gilligan's Island theme). Dumped my wife out of one of the hammocks and she didn't speak to me for the rest of the day.

But, have been on DCL three times now in the last three years.

For all who want to know
One beach towel per cabin (if there is a CC member in the cabin) and two pins per cabin (even if there are 3 CC members in the cabin). Asked cabin steward for a third pin and never got it.
