Reopening of other resorts

I did see the news about Governor Desantis stating that the state was going into the 3rd phase. Which says restrictions are lifted as far as capacity. My question is, do you think it’s possible the other resorts might open up?

I mean don’t we all miss the POR & POFQ???

Possible? Sure. Likely? not immediately. I believe Disney will stick to a conservative plan and slowly re-open resorts as demand builds.

I think just because the governor says everyone can come, doesn’t mean everyone will. I assume that Disney has not chosen to open the other resorts because they don’t think there’s enough demand for it. We were comfortable in August because of the safety procedures in place. However, we would not plan a trip right now if the parks were fully open with no Covid safety measures.

Yeah... I don’t think they’re filling up the ones that are open.

I think you need to see what they do with the parks first. I.E first dropping "park reservations" and then allowing park hopping. This will drive demand for the hotels and thus them reopening.

No. I mean anything is possible but if there’s no real demand, why open POR or POFQ? French quarter would make some sense since it’s smaller and likely easier to fill up but POR, it doesn’t make sense to open anything if it’s not needed. Right now they can’t fill resorts and all aren’t even open so why pay CM to open empty resorts?? I think after 9/11, POR and FQ were closed for over a year due to decreased demand and I think some rehab. If I’m Disney, I’m reopening the resorts that already have the DVC portions open already and possibly one other value before another large moderate.

Hopefully Disney takes this opportunity to fix things that need to be fixed at those closed resorts.

It sounds like they're continually re-evaluating the situation. I wish they would open the PO resorts and AKL (to non DVC rooms as well).

Even with the move to Stage 3 in Florida, many of the stores and buildings require a face mask to enter.
