Renting

How many of you DVCer's have rented/transfered points before? How often have you done it? Do you usually use the money to take a vacay elsewhere?

I had just bought DVC and my home resort was not open yet so I had no points. My friend made a reservation for me and I transfer the points back to her when I got them. I have never rented before but if I ever did I would save the money or use it towards my dues.

I've only done a transfer once, and that was a gift of one point that I gave to someone here on the board who was a point short for a ressie. We use banking and borrowing to make our trips.
