Renting water mice at the YC

Just wonder what the age is to rent water mice at the YC ? My dd is turning 12 during our stay there in Oct. and I am wondering if she will be old enough to take one out on her own. Also wondering about the cost ?????

Minimum age to take one out on own is 18, I think. Cost is around $30 for a halh hour.

We were told by the CM on our Illuminations cruise last Oct that the water mice boats at YC were still the older "slow" variety so the minimum age to drive is 12. The newer sea racers at Ft Wilderness/Poly/GF are faster so the age requirement for those is 16.

I would suggest calling Disney Recreation and asking them to be sure. There's nothing worse that a young one getting their hopes up only to be denied!

We rented them from CR last Oct. and my daughter was 12 and was able to drive when an adult was with her. She loved it - heck, we all did! It was definitely her highlight of our trip.

I think it is 12 with an adult at the resorts, but at DD, you must be 14.

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question. My dd will be almost 15 when we go back to WDW and I'd like to ride in one of the water mice with her. DS's are 9 and 11 but skinny! Can dh take both of them with him? I know it's only 2 seats but my 2 boys (who eat like horses but stay so active they have an incredible metabolism) put together don't weigh any more than what one adult would. Any thoughts?

As well as being 12, there is a height requirement, which I believe is 5 foot. DS was 12 at the Y&BC & went to rent a water mouse, he was 1/2" short & they wouldn't let him rent his own..... They are strict on it as it is a legal issue.
