Renting vs Paying for Transfers

In July, my ds11 and ds10 and I will be spending 10 days in Orlando. From the airport we will first go to the Portafino Bay Hotel for two nights, then to the WL for 5 nights, next the three night Wonder cruise, and then straight back to the airport for our 11:40am flight home.

Right now I am tossing around the idea of renting a car vs paying for 4 transfers for the three of us. I really don't want to drive and have to deal with our luggage myself, but then again I am thinking I can leave Disney World the morning of the cruise at whatever time I want, and it will be nice just to leave a lot of our stuff we don't need to take on the ship (souvineers, dirty clothes, etc.) packed in bags in the rental car. Also it seems like the quickest idea of getting back to the airport from the port. I've read that parking at the port is going to cost me $30.

Does anyone know approx. how much it costs to get from the airport to the Portafino and then from the Portafino to the WL? I think I read somewhere that for the three of us to take Disney's bus to cruise and then back to the airport, that that alone will cost about $150. Is this true? THanks

Yes, the transfers from the airport run $50 a piece round trip. Parking is $10 a day. There are four of us going in June for a three day cruise and since my Mom is in a wheelchair it just makes more sense for us to rent a minivan than to have to wait for a wheelchair accessible bus. Plus our plane back doesn't leave until evening so by having the car we also have the freedom to wander around Orlando on the day we return. If you can get a rental car for less than $120 (whoch you should be able to) then it makes perfect sense to me. We have done both and while it was nice to get off the airplane, not worry about luggage and not have to drive, having the freedom to come and go as you please is also nice so it really is a personal decision. Do what works best for you and enjoy the cruise!

We are doing neither...I turned down the transfers and opted to just have a limo pick us up and bring us to port. We havea limo gingto pick us up after the cruise and take us back to the airport too...I don't want to have to bother driving at all this time.
