I have read on several threads that it is possible to rent and tux and have it in your stateroom when you arrive.

How does one go about doing this? Who do we contact, and does anyone have any idea how much it is?

Thank you so much. :) I can't wait to see my DH all decked out in a black tux.

I have thought about renting a black tux for my husband for our 7 day but :confused3 what should I wear? I have bought my daughter a plain black satin dress that I can accessorize (sp?) up. If I wore black, would that be too much for a formal pic? I have a multi colored sequin top or a teal satin camisole that I could wear. Would pants be too casual? TIA

I am glad I checked this out! I may just rent a tux for our 7 day Eastern in November since it will also be our anniversary! ;)

A quick glance at the society page or photos from a black tie wedding or any such occasion can be your guide--don't let the cruise ship setting worry you that different standards apply.

I have rented with excellent results earlier this year on DCL, and with disastrous results 4 years ago on RCCL out of San Juan--I would think the DCL experience is representative of what you could expect. Our terrific stateroom host, when he dropped it off on embarkation day, told me that if it had any fit issues, let him know, he could get the tailor to work on it, etc., and it was great condition and quality. I even did the shoes.

Bravo to any who embrace the opportunity to wear proper formal wear on formal night.

I think either top with a really nice pair of black pants would work. I have a long black skirt that I've worn with different tops. A black dress with accessories would also would out great.

We used CruiselineFormals for the May repo cruise. My advise; try on the tux and ALL pieces ASAP. My pants were six inches too long, my son's tux had "stuff" in the pockets, and we both ahd two different sized shirts. It was convenient to get the tux onboard for sure. I was ot impressed with their level of quality. The DCL tailor was able to resolve the situation for me but my son was out of luck. As I understand it, there were a lot of tux issues on that cruise. Hoepfully it was only that crusie.

Sorry to bear not so good news. I thought it would be good to share.

Enjoy your cruise!

Even though it means extra stuff to pack, consider buying a tux on eBay. I bought mine for less than the rental & had money left to get a Mickey vest & tie to go with it.
