Renting thru "Dave's Points" or something similar

I am considering renting a DVC this trip. My question is, if we rent a villa through Dave' Points or something similar are we still afforded the same perks for staying on property...ie no park ressie needed...early hours etc

The need for theme park reservations is determined by the type of ticket you have, not whether or not you are staying on-site. An AP or other non-date-based ticket will need theme park reservations regardless of whether one is booked cash (regular hotel booking) or DVC or staying offsite.

Other perks of onsite -- early entry, deluxe extended evenings, free theme park parking -- are the same for anyone staying at a WDW resort whether booked as cash or DVC.

@lanejudy pretty much answered your question but I will add that you will not be afforded DVC member benefits such as access to the DVC lounges, DVC Moonlight Magic events or DVC discounts on dining and merchandise. You will not get daily housekeeping. Your bed won't be made. Your towels will not be replaced automatically but we have been able to request additional towels if needed. Surfaces will not be wiped down except on cleaning days. They will enter your room everyday for a safety check and (maybe) remove your trash and recyclables. A trash & towels visit will be made on Day #4 and a full cleaning will be done on Day#7. If your stay is longer than 7 days, then a full cleaning is done on Day #4 with a trash & towel visit on Day #7. And then the cycle is repeated. Use of the self-service laundry is free but you need to provide your own detergent and softener. You need your room key or MagicBand to enter. 1BR villas and up will have w/d in the room and a small bottle of laundry detergent will be provided. Housekeeping will give you more if asked. No fabric softener is provided.

Good luck matching your dates and resort preferences with an owner. Staying DVC is a great way to get a taste of the deluxe resorts at a fraction of Disney's price.

Seriously? AP as well and I have always had to make reservations even though we’re onsite.

Did you not enter a park prior to 2pm? Was it a "Good to Go" day? Those are the only exceptions. And neither has anything to do with where you stay.

Sorry but you are mistaken. An AP holder that has an on-site stay is still required to make park reservations to enter before 2 PM unless it is a Saturday or Sunday at Magic Kingdom. Or Disney has marked the day as Good to Go, and no park reservation is required.

But you are not limited to the (5) days of park day reservations that would apply to your AP for off-site stays.

Slight correction - housekeeping days as described above are days 4 and 8 (not 4 and 7), with your check-in day counting as day 1.

As others have mentioned, AP holders staying on site do usually need to make reservations. Exceptions are if you happen to be going on good-to-go days or after 2:00 pm only

To enter a theme park, each Passholder must have valid admission—and may need a theme park reservation, depending on the date of visit. Theme park reservations are limited and subject to availability, and reservation requirements are subject to change. Applicable blockout dates apply.

It’s funny because I had forgotten about needing them since the rest of my group has tickets.

Last Friday, I was booking LL and I couldn’t figure out why I could not get times before 2 pm for me.

Then I remembered I needed them and once I did, I got mine to match everyone else’s!!

AMEN! Such a pain for everyone, and really annoying if you're staying on property and party of your party has regular tickets.

I really don’t understand it at this point, especially for onsite. It’s like they are trying to ‘force perspective’ that APs are second class tickets. There isn’t really a need because after APs go and jump thru the hoops of making reservations they turn around and make everything ‘Good to Go ’ days anyway.

Here’s a hint WDW: If a person books a room onsite while holding an AP, extremely high chance they will be bouncing in and out of parks on those same exact dates of the WDW room they booked and paid to stay in.
