Renting Points

Hi. I am new to the forum and was wondering about how to rent out my DVC points. I keep seeing people talk about it but I am still slightly confused about the whole process. How does someone else use your points at a resort if you are making the reservation and not going? Does that violate any terms of your contract? Doesn't the member have to be with the guests at the resort? Thanks for any help and clarification on this.

Renting is expressly allowed per our documents (and that also allows DVC to rent the points they also control).

No one can "use your points" except you, but you can make a reservation for someone else to use. Their name would be on the reservation and they would be the ones to check in at the resort. There is no difference if you make a reservation for a friend or family member and do not charge them ... or if you make a reservation for a friend, family member or a stranger you met only on the internet and charge them for the reservation.
