Renting Points

Hello. I have a question and I hope I'm posting in the right area. For the last three years I have been renting points from the same Disser. Never had a problem and LOVED dealing with him. We are once again planning our annual trip, but I cannot get in contact with him.

I would again like to rent points. I can't seem to locate the correct area to post that I'd like to rent points. I'm wondering if that is still an option on the Disboards. As I stated, I've rented from him for the last three years so I haven't had a need to go onto the DVC area of the boards.

If someone could point me in the right directions on where and how to post for points or if it's no longer an option on here, I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks !!

Jackie :thumbsup2

As I understand the current DIS rules for rental posts, you can respond to posts from people offering points for rent, but you can't post a "points wanted" message. Once you log in you can go to the DVC Rent/Trade board to find offers of points for rent to which you can respond...

Here's what the sticky on the R/T Board says (note: technically, you rent a reservation, not points--hence the language below. Of course, a reservation is based on the number of points it takes to make, so people often "shorthand" the transaction by reference to "renting points.")

"If you would like to rent a reservation at a Disney Vacation Club Resort from a DVC Member:

Please note that we do not accept "Reservation Wanted" or "Transfer Wanted" threads on the Rent/Trade board. If you would like a rent a reservation, please reply to a DVC Member who has posted a thread offering to make a reservation ("Points for Rent") or offering an existing reservation ("Reservation for Rent")."

Good luck!

Hope this helps...

I have had marvelous experiences using the rent/trade DISboard thread :thumbsup2 Good luck :tinker:

Bummer. Much easier to work with folks with whom you've already established a rental relationship than to try to find new ones ... from both sides of the equation. I don't rent a whole lot, but I have a few repeat renters that has made it much easier for both of us when I do.
