Renting Points-Which View?

Hello,

Making our first trip to the World next December. Looking at renting points for a split stay, first leg at the AKL, second leg at the GF. Probably about 3 days at each resort (Universal for 1.5 days in between the two).

Big question, is there a consensus on which area to book for AKL? Are the views drastically different for the different animals/savannas? And when renting points, can you even make such requests?

For GF, I assume the big difference is theme park versus lake view, which is up to an individuals taste, or am I missing something?

AKV views are Savanna or Standard. There is also a "Value" and "Club" option, and you choose between the two buildings; Jambo and Kidani. You don't book a particular savanna, but you can make a room request. If you want to see animals from your room, book the savanna category.

For VGF, the options are "standard" and "lake." There is no "theme park" option. I don't think there are any bad views; I think this decision just comes down to cost.

when you are booking AKV at 11 months out, you can ask the DVC owner to book savanna view (or standard view if you don't care, but savanna view is pretty unique) and also request whether to book jambo house (the old AKL) or kidani village.

for studios, jambo house is probably the more popular option. for 1BRs and up, kidani village has a better set up.
