I have been watching the rent/trade boards here for a while and was curious to know what other sites are good to rent on?
I considered Ebay, just not sure I want to go that route.
I notice a lot of renters here will try to talk the price down, it seems like DVC points are seriously undervalued. I am not trying to start a debate, just something I noticed.

Thanks IA!

Your points are valued at whatever price you want them to be valued. My price has increased $2 more per point than the "going rate" and I have had no problem renting them at that rate. I provide a written contract and a knowledge of renting points, ME and the DDP for my guests. I have had people say they they are looking to rent at $10 per point (or even less!) and I wish them luck and turn them loose. Perhaps they will find a newbie with 3 posts (all to the DVC rental board) who will rent to them at their preferred price and I hope that everything works out OK for both of them. Others will pay a little more for someone with experience and an established presence here on the DIS.

The only other venue I know about is even less trafficked than the DIS and is designed for members to swap with each other. And, of course, there is eBay. You might make a bit more with eBay, but not a whole lot once you factor in eBay and PayPal fees. In addition, eBay buyers are a different kind of customer who may be less forgiving than your average DIS'er.

Rinkwide, something to think about.......thanks! I have been reading the thread on the other DVC board.

Thanks Robin.

I have rented twice before, but both times I was trying to use up holding points that were soon expiring. So in that case I was happy with $10 pp. And both rentals went smoothly.

This is a little different. I have an existing reservation that we cannot use (Army has decided that time frame would be great for us to move 1000 miles away!), some of the points are banked from last use year so I can't bank them again. The resort, BWV, is sold out for the time period.
So yes, I guess because of that fact I would like to see a higher price.

I am bummed we cannot use the ressie ourselves, I booked it for my DS's birthday, but c'est la vie!
