OK..I'm trying to rent some points for the first time. I've been asked to check availability for some dates at some resorts..If they are available what do I do??? Reserve them in my name and then if the person doesn't want it cancel? Or just hope they are still available after I get back to the person, make arrangements, etc? It seems alot of places may be open and then you call back to book and they are no longer available. :confused3:confused3

If you feel comfortable doing it, reserve with your information and then change it when you get the info. from the renter. In my experience, if a renter is truly on board, they will give you all their information right off the bat knowing how fast these villas can go, especially during peak times. Go with your gut on this one. :goodvibes

I agree with the previous poster. I will now only call and check availability if the renter provides me with all names of people in party, home address etc. This sorts out the timewasters from the genuine renters. I used to spend so much time making calls and not hearing from people once I had confirmed availability, it was a nightmare!

Thank you for the great advice. I think this was just a general inquiry, so I'll go with that.
:)

I would only do it with current year points, you can cancel with no problem. I wouldn't bank or borrow points to do it.

But they could also just be using you to shop a reservation. Make them put something up for you to make the call. You need to remind them that the reservation may not be available in an hour or a day later for them to make up their mind.
