Renting points question?

I am renting points from a DVC member. I thought I read somewhere that you a non member can check to make sure the reservation was actually made if you call the resort itself about 1 to 3 days prior to checking in. Is this true? I am just nervous if my reservation was made. I did everything I was needed to do before renting points but I still have that little voice of doubt. Thank you for any help you can give me.
 
When you rent the person who you are renting from should give you the reservation confirmation number. Simply call Disney and give the reservation number and confirm your details.
 
Yes, you should be able to call the resort directly a few days before arrival. Even with the reservation number the resort won't be able to respond until they get the reservation from MS - usually about 3-5 days prior to arrival.
 
Of course, 3-5 days before you arrive will be too late to do anything about a reservation not made. It will keep you from worrying on the plane or in the car on the way down, but if the reservation didn't get made 3 days out, you'll be seeing if CRO has rooms available.

did the dvc member mail you the confirmation letter (that they received on your behalf) from member services? did you get your magical express luggage tags in the mail at your address? these would be good indications that your ressie was, indeed, made...
 
I've rented many times now and I always get the paper confirmation or the
number from the member. Then I call the resort several days in advance and
confirm the reservation. It's always been there. You will be fine and have the
time of your life! Enjoy!:thumbsup2
 
Yes the renter emailed me all my confirmation letters. And My DS is flying so he got ME set up for her. I feel really good about the renter. He has answered all my questions and made me feel good about it all. But there is always that little bad thought every now and then. Thank you all for answering my questions.
 
I was the exact same way last Oct. Just that tiny seed of doubt even as you are walking up to check-in. We had our confirmation letter and luggage tags from ME. I guess it comes from all the horror stories you read of people being scammed all the time.
Two good things came out of it all. 1) Loved staying at a DVC resort and 2) Bought our own to have the control.:woohoo: :woohoo:
