renting points question?

If I rent points for BCV and have them transferred into my account do they stay BCV points so that I can make a reservation at the 11 month window? I thought that was what I had read on here but I called MS today and they told me the points would become BW points as that is what I own and that they would only keep their use year....is this correct? If that is true then would I need to have someone make the reservation for me instead of transferring the points to me?

The transferred points should stay BCV points. However, the computer system can't really track them that way and so if you don't insist (keep track of the transaction confirmation number), they will indeed appear to be BWV points.

After you do the transfer, make sure you tell the CM that you want to use the points for a BCV reservation. You may have to ask for a Supervisor and you may have to wait a day or so to actually make the reservation. Apparently, it requires some type of manual tracking and special handling to do.

Thanks so much....that was what I thought. I've been reading everything on these boards and thought I understood it correctly but then the CM told me differently. Thanks again for the clarification.
