We are planning a trip to wdw florida .

a friend suggested i come to disboards to find out more about it.

so, i have read some stuff online, but still have questions.

if i rent points:
- do i buy actual park tickets separately?
- can we still buy a dining plan?

How exactly do I find somebody willing to rent me their points?

How can I find out if anything is available during our time frame?

please help this dvc renting newbie!!!

Welcome,
You will have your lodging only but magical express can be added to the reservation by the DVC owner.

You will not get maid service daily, only on the 4th you get trash and towels and full cleaning on the 7th or 8th.

You will need to get park tickets separately. Also if you want to add the dining plan you might do a three way call with member services to add your credit card.

To rent go to the rental part of the DVC board and look for people who have points for rent. Then just deal with one person.

Good luck

Housekeeping is limited, but not exactly as this poster states. If you stay seven nights or fewer, you will get your trash removed and towels replaced on day 4. If you stay eight nights or more, you get a full cleaning on day four and trash removed and towels replaced on day eight. Then the cycle repeats.

Go over to the Rent/Trade Board and read the sticky threads at the top fo the page.

This is an arrangement between you and a member and Disney will not get involved for any reason. The member sets the terms for the rental. Basically, they make a reservation using their points and put your name on the reservation. The member fully controls the reservation at all time. You won't be able to call Member Services for any reason.

Most members make their reservation 7 to 11 months out, so any short term reservations are very difficult. Plus there are a lot of times of the year where a member really must book the reservation at 11 months out to get anything at all - from Oct to early January, Spring Break/Easter.

You need to find someone with points at the resort you want to book and contact that member. They will have to check to see if it is available. There is no way you can check availability.
