I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum, but I'd like to ask anyone who has rented points before or tried, either directly or using David's Vacation Rentals. My question is what are my chances of availability for a studio in any of the DVC resorts in WDW for the first week in November 2010? When is the best time to book when renting points? Thanks for the response.

for the first week in november 2010 - it's not great odds but it's possible. (food and wine at epcot make the epcot resorts a lock to be booked up, though - so BWV and BCV are almost certainly out.) the first week of december is much more popular among DVC owners.

DVC owners can book their home resort at 11 months out, and many do to make sure they have a spot. at 7 months, any owner can book at any DVC resort that still has availability.

if you are looking for something rare (like AKV concierge villas) or otherwise tough to get (like early december at the wilderness lodge villas), then you need to book right around the 11 month window. usually there is still some availability at the 6-7 month window.

at 3-4 months out, you are really "last minute" in timeshare terms but if you are flexible (and OK with the larger resorts like SSR or OKW), it is still possible that some studios are available. it's worth a call...

Ask him and he will tell you. We have a stay at AKV booked through him and he is very helpful in answering questions. He has a "chat now" button on his site you can use if he is online, too.

Thanks for the responses, I was able to get a studio at Saratoga Springs for 6 days in early November. Dave's service was very easy to use, kept me up to date when trying to book. I would recommend using his services. saved me ALOT of money.

I submitted a request a few months ago for the first week of Oct. There was no availability for the resorts I requested and the deposit was promptly returned.
I missed the "chat" option. I would have liked to ask what was available for that week.
Next time ....
