Renting Points for (Resort Removed by Moderator)

We are looking to rent DVC points at the (resort removed) resort in (travel month removed) 2014. Can anyone give me advice on how to do this...thanks!!

Just a reminder that we ask any rental questions not contain specific travel info like dates and resort, unless answering a post on our Rent/Trade board.

First, you'd need to decide if you want to use a broker, like our Rent/Trade Board advertiser, David's Rentals. Brokers generally charge a few $ per point more, but do offer the renter some security as they hold some of the payment to the owner until after you've checked ino the resort. Renting direct from a DVC Owner is less expensive. but involves a great deal of trust on both sides of the transaction.

DVC Owners can book their home resort 11 months in advance, so about a year before you desired travel dates, you should be contacting either a broker, or a DVC owner offering points that owns at your desired resort.

Some item specifics may have changed since these older threads were started, like paying for the DDP when it is booked, but they still offer a good overall description of the rental process. Also remember that our Rent/Trade rules no longer allow Reservation Wanted threads, you wouold need to reply into an existing Points for Rent Thread.

Also remember that non-WDW based resorts do not have any dining plan option available.
