Hi, so I rented my points and they want to add the dining plan and I was advised by MS that you need to pay for this in advance now...is this true? I like to double check on the boards b/c I know sometimes MS doesn't always give the right info. If this is true how have you handled this with reservations you have rented? Thanks

Yep, you have to pay when you add it to the reservation. So get the person who is purchasing your reservation to pay you in total for the dining plan (if they still want it after learning this) and then you add it to the reservation.

The pay for the dining plan when adding it to a room reservation went into effect on 10/14/2010. Another option would be for the renter to get a gift card (Visa, Mastercard, Disney, Amex) for the amount of the dining plan and give you the card number to give to MS.

Just curious if the process of renting points is easy? I am thinking of renting my points but am a lil hesitant. Thanks for your help:)

i thought of that but wasnt sure if i gave ms my credit card does it stay on file for that particular reservation?

i like the idea of getting a visa gift card for that amount.

thanks for the tips

yes i would say it is easy but you need to educate yourself on the process first. go on the rent/trade board and read the sticky thread. good place to start. do a search on this board on renting points and i am sure you will find some helpful tips that way too.

I talked to member services about this and they also said they could do a 3 way call with the member and the guest. This way the guest could give member services their credit card info without giving it to you. Member services would block your end while getting that info from the renter. I think the gift card sounds like a great idea and safe for both parties involved.
