Renting points and adding DDP?

We are weighing all our options and are thinking of renting DVC points and adding a DDP. The question is do we have to add the same number of days for the dining plan as we are staying - or if we are staying 8 nights, could we ask for 4 days of the dining plan?

Everyone on the reservation must have the dining plan for the entire length of stay. DVC is the same as non-DVC with the dining plan. You must add it to the reservation at least 48 hours ahead of time and you pay for it when you add it. You cannot add it when you arrive and you cannot pay for it when you arrive.

ok, thanks! There are too many options! I am trying to price out different combos and am going insane trying!

It is possible to get 4 days with DDP and the next 4 days without. It would, however, require you to change accommodations (split stay). There are a few of ways to do this.

1) stay in two seperate resorts
2) chnage the room / view type (1 BR to 2BR, or Standard view to Preferred View

It would probably take more points and would require you to check out and check in again. Each stay carries it's own reservation number and thus you could attach a dining plan to one and not the other.
