Renting out points

I am wondering how easy it is to rent out points? We're thinking about becoming DVC members and there is points on this particular contract that have to be used before we can go back to WDW. Just wondering how quickly they would rent?
Just thought that I would ask the experts!

Also depends on when they expire. If, for instance, you were buying a contract with Feb use year points (expiring Jan 31) it might be more difficult to rent them out. It's not about the points, it's because it might be difficult to get reservations before they expire. Oct/Nov looks just about sold out because of the Food & Wine Fest, then you blend right into Thanksgiving, followed by early December which is one of THE most difficult times to get a DVC ressie at short notice. Christmas through New years is always popular for folks who want to spend the holidays at WDW. So, in the example of a Feb expire, easy renting would probably only be in January and your market of people who want to go to WDW in January is much smaller.

Not saying impossible, just difficult. Now if the points expired in June, the whole scenario becomes much easier for rentals.

Thanks for that info. That is something I did not know, because we never go at that time. That is definitely something to consider.
