We usually rent from Alamo at MCO. Next summer, we're considering renting for less days and using ME. Is it better to rent from the CCC or the Dolphin? We can access the Dolphin through Epcot or we can take a bus from one of the parks. How would we get to the CCC to pick up the car? What about after dropping the car off? Does Alamo provide transportation back to the resorts?

We're staying at BLT from Saturday, August 13th- Tuesday, August 23rd. We only want to rent a car from Sunday, August 14th - Sunday, August 21st and plan on renting a full size car.

Renting a car from CCC maybe easier for you then the Dolphin. There is a shuttle that picks up and drops off guests who are renting cars from the CCC. I was planning on doing the same type of rental for my December trip and found the information out from the company.

I wonder how far in advance the shuttle needs to be scheduled.

Keep in mind that you're not limited to Alamo/National at the Dolphin or Car Care Center.

The other major car rental companies all have facilities near WDW, with free pickup at WDW resorts and free return to your resort after your return your rental car. It's just as convenient as renting from Alamo/National at the CCC.

I use Hertz due to a negotiated corporate rate that I can also use for personal rentals. So I save money compared to using Alamo/National.

I'm not saying there's anything bad about Alamo/National. But you might be able to get a better rate with another company, with equal convenience.

Oh I didn't even consider that! Thanks for the tip.

We have found great rates at Dollar at what was the Regal Sun resort - formerly the Grosvenor. While they advertise that they will pick you up, we always just take the bus to DTD, walk across the street, pick up the car and are on our way. Same with return, just take a bus back to our resort from DTD. When on the Dollar site, it's the Dollar at Lake Buena Vista.
We have also rented from them and returned to the airport.

The former Regal Sun Resort is now the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort.

They told me to call 24 hrs in advance to schedule the shuttle. Also when you return the car the shuttle will take you anywhere you want to go on Disney property.

Thanks for all of the info about renting a car at WDW. I think this will be much easier than I initially thought and we won't have to drive from the airport. With two kids, we prefer to do ME and have our luggage delivered.

On my last trip of 5 days I used ME to get back and forth from the airport and rented for 2 days/ 1 night from enterprise when I wanted to go off property for an evening. They picked me up at 8:30am and had me in the park by 9:30. The next day the drove me right into EPCOT. Thye are also listed under lake buena vista. They are affordable but do surcharge for one way rentals to the airport.

We used ME on our trip a few weeks ago and rented from Budget through a link on the DIS's transportation page....best rate I could find! It was at the DoubleTree about an 8 minute walk from Downtown Disney. They do have a shuttle service but that only runs in the mornings, until 1:00 . Zero upselling and drop off was easy. They will definitely get my money again if I need a rental!

Thanks! I'll definitely look into Enterprise.

Thanks! I'll have to check Budget's prices today.
