We have never had the need to rent movies before but for our upcoming trip we might need to. Can you get them at both Kidani and Jambo?

We just stayed at Kidani and you can rent movies in the store. I don't know about Jambo.

Thank you. We are only at Jambo the first night and then at Kidani for the rest of the trip, so it's great to know we can get them right at Kidani. I thought I had read you could only get them at one of the buildings.

you could at the gift shop. just ask when you are in there - it is also the place for groceries.

although most of it is a gift shop - one of the nicest at WDW.

Jambo House also has movie rentals. They are done from the registers closest to the lobby (near the watches) in the Zawadi Marketplace.

They had them at both places but we found the selection very poor. We stayed at BLT our last night and the easily had 5x the DVDs that AKV had.

I was going to post earlier with the comment that the selection was not very good at AKV, but didn't want to be a "Negative Nelly" [not that I'm saying you are Denise :flower3:] But, it really is true about the selection at AKV. If possible, I would bring some DVDs from home.

I'm really technolgy-challenged, which means I have no idea how to use the DVD player. But sometimes I think I'd like to rent a Disney movie at the resort. Do they include ccomplimentary instructions on how to use it, or do they figure you know how.

The first time I stayed at AKV - Kidani right after it opened I couldn't figure it out and called the 'front desk' and they explained it to me. It seems like since I have seen actual instructions on the player.

Our one DD was very disappointed. Talking to another couple there they kept checking on the same movie every day (DD was too but not the same one) and they never did see it nor did DD. Our trip included 13 at AKV next time we will pack a few favorites. I think they need a better check out system to charge folks when they are not returned.

Like you I suggest bring a few from home.

hey that is what housekeeping or even bell services can help with - but it is easy - take the thing out of the package (and sometimes this is the hard part) - get the control (DVD) - click the up arrow on it - if it does not have one good reason to call for help. if it does a slit opens and you put the dvd on it - it closes just push it. then you need to find (on the tv remote not dvd remote) - how to make it dvd instead of tv - again if you get confused just call - and it should be working.

Ohhh-the DVD player has its own remote? On ours, we to both the TV and DVD with the same remote, and DH pushes (what seems to me like) about 10 buttons to change it over. I'll bet a separate remote would make things SO much easier. Thanks.
