I have a confirmed reservation at Boardwalk for Christmas. I rented from a member. I have my confirmation with my name listed on the reservation. I called member services to add additional names to the reservation (husband, etc) to request the dining plan and Magic Express. I was told I could not do that as the renter, the owner had to do that for me.

I thought I had read on this board that renters could do this themselves??

Not anymore. The member must make all calls to Member Services. This was a change implemented within the past two weeks. Contact the member and have him/her make the changes you need. He or she may not be aware of this change, so you may have to explain.

They are starting to enforce the rules that were to be in place all the time .

Member services is only to be used by the Members.

You have to call the person you rented from and have them make the changes and add-ons for you.

I think what was happening was too many renters were calling with questions and request that members know they can't or don't have and it was tying them up . It souldn't be a problem to get the renter to do these things for you.

I believe you can make DME arrangements directly with DME.

You will have to have the owner you rented from make the DDP arrangements with MS, due to the recent change.

DME still needs the first registration from MS then they can make changes directly..

As an Owner I called to make a change (add a person to ME that wasn't on orginal ressie). When they checked I wasn't even registered yet ( my fault thought I did it) and they said ME had to set it up first then I could call directly and make changes myself.
