Renting from Dollar- Questions

I've only ever rented from Alamao, and I've been very pleased with them, but I can't beat the promotion from Dollar in Dec.

Do they assign you a specific car, or do you just pick one out in a row, like at Alamo?

If you are an express member, is check-in fast?

You check in and they assign you aspecific car. If you are fast lane. The do have a separate line at MCO so if there are lots of people in line that does help and all your info is in the computer so it takes less tiime.

Yes, the Dollar Express was amazing. Left Alamo in the dust.

Note that at MCO they give you a specific car, but at some other locations you pick the car you want from a row.

Hmm . . . Just like Hertz #1 Club Gold, except that the Hertz bus drops you right at your car, NO WAITING IN LINE. Faster than renting onsite at MCO; IMHO of course. I can't stand that extra insurance hardsell, which is one reason why I recommend Hertz.

My last experience w/Dollar and Fast Lane was not too good. Inside the terminal, at the Dollar desk we did get to checkin fairly quickly, but when we went to the garage there was another kiosk where you got your keys and they only had one window open. So even if you were Fastlane members, you had to wait in that line. It took about 1/2 hour to get through that line. They had three people working in the kiosk and they were very disorganized. Three people came back to the kiosk to say they were given the wrong keys to the cars.

I'll stick to Alamo and National from now on.
