NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

Did anyone get the rakuten 2% back with giftcards.com to work? Both my orders went from processing to ineligible today.
Mine are both pending.
If you don’t mind sharing, what is your go to source and method for getting the most DGC cards at the lowest cost through stacking throughout the year? I hear people here consistently getting 20% discounts, but I have never been able to hit that mark. I know there are many different buying opportunities, but what retailers and payment methods should a newbie focus on first? I would like to up my game in 2026. Thank you!
In addition to what TheOneWithTheTriplets said some of us have multiple credit cards so we can take advantage of shopping offers each one has.

The Purchases section on my Target App is now showing up.

My Circle bonus is $15 off of a $80 purchase.

Just to verify:
I can buy a digital $100 DGC with the bonus activated for $85 using the app, correct?

I am excited!
Nope, sorry.

"$X off with purchase of $Y" don't work on gift cards, only "Spend $X, get $Y rewards" work. And, for that matter, when you go to spend those rewards, they can't be used on GCs, only merch.

I cannot speak for others, but I find 20% to be a pretty hard number to get. I view it this way:

5% - Very easy to get. Sam’s Club $190 for $200 is the standard price. Target Red Card members get 5% off all the time.
10% - Watch for sales. They happen. Best Buy typically does 10% a couple times a year. They just finished yesterday. I believe it was also last year in February or March that they did it. This year the $450 for $500 “secret” sale was tantalizing because of how large the gift cards were… I wish I had learned about it earlier! Additionally Sam’s Club will provide a 10% off sale with some regularity - maybe 2 times a year or so $180 for $200. Typically there are supply limits for these types of sales.
More than 10% is pretty rare to find in a basic offer. Best Buy last year did a “drop” for I believe $80 for a $100 GC or something like that. It went within seconds, and was limited to 1 or 2 per customer.

Typically for the greater savings than 10% you need to double up. For example, last year the Sam’s Club May GC sale would be combined with the 5% cash back in wholesale clubs category at Discover. So you got 10% off plus another 5% back, making the total number relatively close to 15%. You sometimes can stack REDcard (Target) discounts with promotions that give you “awards” to use at Target.

Credit Card incentives often help, but can vary. Many individuals received Best Buy promotions on their American Express Cards this year. I have four American Express Cards, but none of them were eligible for the offer for me.

Your credit card, at a minimum should give you back 1% on what you are spending, which isn’t quite the same as 1% of the value of the card. So that is an additional bonus that people count towards it.

Same with me, I didn't get an email confirmation for my order, and I can't load purchase history.
Did your order ever show up? I bought some DGC after this was fixed and I don’t see it in my purchase history and I also didn’t get an email.

These are my observations and what I do obviously this depends on the region of the country you live in because it relies heavily on Meijer, a Midwest grocery chain.

Meijer tends to run gift card promotions of spend $50 get 5000 points. This caps at a $500 spend and is frequently around holidays, such as Valentine's Day, Mothers Day, Easter, Fathers Day, Halloween, Christmas (this list is non-exclusive).

Technically they occasionally run other sales and promotions but I'm focusing on big wins not $50 here or there.

Occasionally the promotion will be spend $50 and get 7500 points. Points can be used for money off merchandise/groceries, gas discount or other things. For our case we will math it as money off.

I would contend that gas isn't always the best option as we drive smaller cars, I work remotely thus we don't use a lot. You would need to calculate what works best for you.

At $50 per 5000 points if you bought the max of $500 that's $50 or 10% off

If you get $50 per 7500 points at the maximum purchase that's $75 or 15% off

Meijer codes as a grocery store. You can use this to your advantage by using a credit card that pays cash back so in my case using the AAA Daily Advantage card I'm adding another 5%. TECHNICALLY this against the rules of the cardholder agreement however if I was really thirsty and got a soda oh and some gift cards while I was there. 😉

This would increase
50/5000 to 15%
75/5000 to 20%

You can also use PayPal debit card if you select grocery as your category. This is also 5% cash back with a max of $50 cash back so a $1000 spend. This is free and very handy for our next store.

Sam's Club tends to run Disney gift cards on sale the first full weekend of May and November each year. It's been $180 for $200 with a limit of 4. As of 12/19/2025 PayPal Debit has been coding Sam's Club and Costco as grocery which means you can get 5% cash back. This could be changed at anytime. So stacking these together will get you 15% off.

These are the strategies that have been serving me well and seem to be repeating however things can obviously change.
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate both the ideas and thorough explanations.

Unfortunately no Meijer’s where we live (Western NY), but I will look for similar programs at the grocery stores we do have.

We have a Sam’s Club membership and we purchase DGCs from them online regularly. No PayPal debit card though, so I will look into that as well.

Thanks again!

So I reached out to Target after I placed an order on the Red Card for 142.50 to be able to get my Circle bonus. It immediately disappeared and their response is “We are currently experiencing a technical issue within our application, which is preventing us from taking any actions at the moment. Additionally I’m unable to access your order details right now.” Basically then immediately ended the chat after I said but the pending charge is on there and you sent me nothing. And they were like “nope nothing we can do”.

Hitting 20% for high volume is hard. Shoprite, for instance, often has spend $100, get $20 next week, but that's one per Price Plus card, so you can't really scale that up too much without having a bunch of people's price plus numbers.

If you consider Target Circle rewards like cash, their bonuses are generally good. Red Card gives you 5% off the top and then you can stack that with the various Spend X, Get Y that pop up periodically over the course of the year.

Folks lucky enough to get BJs coupons that stack with their already discounted GCs can also get good value, but my BJs account almost never gets coupons, unfortunately.
Good suggestions. Thank you!

No ShopRite here either, but we lived in New Jersey for many years and that was our preferred grocery store.

I read a lot about people stacking good discounts at Target, but am generally reluctant to apply for store cards due to the specificity and the need to unfreeze credit. I may need to revisit that if Target is a main component of a solid DGC strategy.

We also have a BJ’s membership and, like you, are in the miiddle of a long dry spell for spend x, get y off coupons. The only way we might get a discount is if we ask for one before renewing our membership.

Thanks again!

P.S. Sorry for any typos; just back from the eye doctor.

Still no email and still nothing in purchase history. But there is a pending charge. I don't know whether I need to put in another order or not.

Great first post!!

I would just state as others have pointed out that the gas redemption is better as long as you fill more than 10 gallons in your tank possibly saving an extra $20 since it is up to 30 gallons per fill up.

Even knowing this we generally just take the $$ off of groceries as well.
Our local grocery store chain (Tops Friendly Markets) has.a a really good gas discount program. For the current period we have earned a $2.70 per gallon discount on up to 25 gallons. The program repeats every few months. We. usually fill the tanks of both of our cars and hit the 25 gallons.

Again, my apologies for any typos.

Mine are both pending.

Thank you.! Yes, that definitely will be part of my strategy. Just need to figure out the best cards for this purpose and then will apply for one or two of them in early 2026 and another later in the year.

I have a Bank of America Custom Cash Rewards card - I stack this at the beginning of every quarter with 4x200 eGC via the sam’s app.

You can also do a target RedCard debit card and get the 5% off target purchases.

It’s a pending charge. Give it a couple days then freak out if they tell you the order was fulfilled but you didn’t get your gift cards.

I agree about store cards in general, but feel Target is an exception because of the 5% back right off the top. You don't have to remember to apply your points, there's no minimum redemption, it's just a straight 5% off of the total. To me, immediate savings every time is worth having a store card.

It being a main component of a solid DGC strategy is more related to your willingness to buy other products there. I have 2 targets within 15 minutes of my house, the smaller of which is the closest place for me if I need to run in for some forgotten item. So, any time Target offers the rewards on spend, I know I can buy DGC and then use those rewards dollars on the miscellaneous stuff I end up buying there. If you have to go out of your way to spend those rewards, then it's much less useful as a strategy.

Nice - mine is only $15 rewards for the same spend. Would love to know their algorithm for allotting these offers to us...
Do you use these offers often?
I received the same offer as you, $15 back with $150 spend. I take advance of these offers almost every single time they have them to buy gift cards though out the year.

it seems like I get worse offers than I see posted most of the time and I feel like it’s because they know I am going to jump on it no matter what they offer me.
