Will my KTTW have any reference to DVC on it if I am just renting a DVC's points?

It depends. The Member is supposed to identify you as a renter. If they do, you will not have the DVC Member designation. If they do not, you will.

That's assuming that no one screws up your reservation, which also happens (in both directions).

Naturally, most landlords understand that the product they are selling is more valuable if they do not identify renters as such, and so they rarely do. If this is important to you, clarify it with your landlord before signing on the dotted line.

However, you may have to show a Blue DVC Member Card to get discounts and perks. More and more, the vendors ask to see the Blue DVC Member Card before giving the discount.

You are not entitled to any perks or discounts if you are not a member.

Almost certainly....but DVC members have another card - the Blue DVC Member card. Technically and generally speaking, that is what is required to get discounts and perks - not the room key. As Deb said, its being asked for more and more - we've had it asked for when getting Dining Discounts, when Pool Hopping, and that and ID when getting annual passes. Over the past three years, I don't think I've ever found the room card to be sufficient to do anything other than open my room and get me in for EMHs.

but others are lazy - the ID (key) will say DVC member and that might get you some discounts.

the only one that is surpose to always ask to see the blue card is valet parking - but even they don't.

I just returned from a BWV stay on points and I'm a member. No where on my card did it say DVC member, so I think they've gotten rid of it.

I also just returned from BWV stay and our Keys say DVC DDP.

yes it did say that, but the DVC member designation is now gone. I guess you need your blue card to get all the perks now. I did get my free internet though.

I wonder if you didn't have the dining plan, if it would say DVC member.

Just returned from BCV and my card had dvc member on it and we did not have the dining plan.
