Hi, I have Plantar Fascitis and need to get some basic ECV information that hopefully I won't have to use, but I want to be prepared for the worst.

We are staying offsite and renting a car, so I think I would need to rent one at each park.

How much do they cost, do I need to get a note from my doctor? Any tips ?

Thanks!

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

We suggest renting from offsite. Just about all ECVs disassemble to fit in a car trunk; you can let the company know what you need. The off-site are much better, much less expensive, and you can be sure that one is available for you. If you are staying at a hotel they will deliver it to Bell Services before you arrive and pick it up after you depart. If is a house they will use the management company.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including in Post #2 where people rent ECVs.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

Some people do prefer to rent from the parks, although there are advantages to renting from off-site (less expensive, smaller, you have it also at the resort). We rented from off site a couple of times for my father in law, but he preferred to rent in the parks because he did not want to deal with the buses and he did not necessarily want one each day or in each park.

There isinformation in the place Cheshire Figment pointed you toward about both options.
If you are planning on getting to the park close to opening each day, you should have little difficulty getting one at the parks. But, do be aware they can't be reserved ahead of time and there are limited numbers.
If you plan to rent at the parks or don't want to commit to renting from off site, I would recommend still taking the phone numbers of some of the off site rental places with you to have available in case you change your mind.

Almost forgot - you don't need a doctor's note to rent one.
