Renting DVC points Thanksgiving week questions

Hello! If I were to rent DVC points for the Sun-Wed of Thanksgiving week, 2014, 2 bedroom, what is my best strategy? Is this a very difficult time to find availability? Should I try to find a renter who has my DVC choice as their home resort and book 11 months out? Would renting at 7 months out be too risky for those dates? Thanks a bunch!

T-giving week availability can be tough, especially the closer you get to T-giving itself and the weekend following it...Wed will be difficult, Tuesday less so but still an issue...Sun & Mon maybe not so much--at least based on our experience doing T-giving at Disney for 10 of the last 11 years --2-BRs and studios seem to book considerably more quickly than 1-BRs, too...

So, you'll have more choices and less stress if you work w/an owner at the resort you want at 11 months out...those points may be a bit more expensive, though...11-month booking window points sometimes command a premium of $1-$2/point...

It depends on where you want to stay- if you are trying to stay at SSR (maybe not the treehouses) then 7 months is fine if you want GFV, BLT(standard or theme park), BWV (BW or standard), and possibly BCV then you probably want to find an owner at 11 months. If you want some of those rooms you would need someone calling at the 11 month window with your rental agreement in place.
