Can someone give me more information on how to rent from a DVC member or direct me to the page on this site to contact a DVC member that wants to rent? I'm unable to find it and would love to know more about this since our next trip we will be traveling with more than just our core family of 4 and need a bigger room. I was thinking this might be worth looking into and saving a little bit of money.
TIA!

Hi, I use David's DVC rentals when I have extra points to rent out..very easy and safe for both renter and seller...
Have fun

I found it. Thanks!
And I've looked at David's as well.

Another question maybe y'all can help. I sometimes get PIN codes for free dining. Can I use those with a DVC reservation? Does anyone know?

No, you cannot.

No, Free Dining is available only for stays made thru Disney reservations. If you have a PIN code for the dates of your stay, you should still compare that cost vs. a DVC rental with the DDP added. You may find the DVC rental to still be less costly than the "Free" dining option at the same DVC Resort.

Thank you! That answers my question. And yes it probably would be cheaper to rent points vs. pay out right for the same resort/room. We just have to now decide which works best for us.

Thank you for answering. :)

When you "rent points", you are not making a reservation with Disney. A DVC member makes a reservation using their points for a DVC villa. So the agreement is between you and the member. So nothing that goes along with a regular Disney reservation will be in play. No PINS, no discounts, no deals, no free dining, etc. And, the big one, more than likely, no cancellations or changes to the reservation. Meaning no refunds.

Until you check into your villa, you don't even own the reservation. It is owned by the member. So you can't make requests yourself or add the dining plan or Magical Express. The member has to make any requests for you.

Plus, unless you pay extra, no daily housekeeping. For stays of seven nights or less, you get your towels replaced and the trash removed on day 4 of your stay. If you stay eight nights or more, you get one full cleaning on day 4 and trash and towel service on day 8. If you need more towels, more shampoo, more cleaning, bed making, you have to pay extra for that.

But you are treated like any other Disney resort guest once you check in. Like access to Extra Magic Hours, use of Magical Express, etc.
