You can't when it comes to dealing with the brokers. Most of them will not take your application fee prior to the 11-moonth window. However, once the window opens, you can put in your request. If nothing is immediately available, you can opt to say "thank you" and move on, choose a different resort that does have available owners or (with some brokers) enter a queue of renters who may want to rent inside the 7-11 month window at the same resort (though not necessarily the same dates). How do you get on a waitlist before the booking window opens?
Looking at the 3rd option:
Once an owner at Resort X signs up, the broker will look at their list of waitlisted renters for that resort. They will consider the number of points that the owner is willing to use for a reservation and then compare that to what the renters need to complete their desired reservations. The broker chooses the first renter on the list who fits that criteria. Then the broker checks to see if the villa is available for that date. If it is, then the broker contacts the owner to see if they can secure the reservation. If there is no availability for the first potential renter, the broker moves on to the next renter on the list that needs the number of available points and checks for availability. The process repeats until the points get used for reservation(s).
