Renting DVC Points- Add'l Charges??

I am not a DVC member but would like to rent points to stay at either the Boardwalk or the Beach Club in a studio Nov/Dec 06. The points calculator says I need 133-163 points to do so.

I am confused as I offered to purchase 163 points from someone advertising BCV points at $10 per point. He said he would make the reservation for me. I was planning on sending him a money order for $1,630 (163 x $10) but then he invoiced me for $3,000. Are there add'l charges that I am missing? Why is it more than the $1,630?

There are not any additional charges charged by DVC.

You have Nov/Dec 6 --what does that mean?? November what?? are you sure you gave him the right dates?? The points needed for any dates would be exact not a range of points.

We would need a bit more information to answer that question.

Are you perhaps staying some days in the Nov. 22-24 time period? Are some of your nights Friday and Saturday? You are talking about a reservation over a point change time. November 22-24 would be a higher point time, November 25-30 is choice season, and December 1-14 is the lowest point cost season. Without knowing exact dates, we couldn't possibly answer this, but your first contact about the charges should be to the person you are renting from rather than here.

According to what the OP has posted on the Rent/Trade board she is looking for a studio at BCV or BWV for 11/25/06-12/5/06. I expect the reason for the point range is that BCV would be 163 points and BWV Standard View would be 133 points for those dates.

You need to contact whomever you rented from.There seems to be a misunderstanding or something. Maybe they booked the wrong room size or something. You need to ask them, don't just pay it. Get it clarified and rectified!
