Renting Disney strollers

I am going soon with my 9 month old and my 5 yo and 2 grandmas. I am bringing my ergo and my citi mini, and I plan on renting a Disney stroller for my 5yo if necessary.
I will be working most of the trip, so renting one for the full length does not make sense
When we go to the parks we may want to sometimes leave the baby or take the baby to the room, so we want to be able to split, and in those times I just will bring my citi mini.
I have never rented a stroller from disney before
If you leave the park for a break and return, can you pick one up on the way back?
Is the return crazy when leaving the park at the end of the day?
any advice appreciated

We plan on renting one from an outside company that will drop it off and pick it up from the resort for us! It's less expensive than renting in the park and ensures we have our hands on it while on property but not in a park (resorts, DS, etc.)

Definitely rent from an outside company - they bring the stroller to your hotel and pick it up at Bell Services at the end of your stay and it saves so much money. And an added bonus - you can take it out of the parks (you can't do this with the Disney strollers). If you're walking to the parking lot or waiting for a bus, it's much easier to put a 5 year old in the stroller and walk or wait than it is to carry a sleeping child all the way back, when you're already exhausted yourself from a long day in the park. And they're also more comfortable for kids - Disney strollers are hard molded plastic.

I have never personally rented a Disney stroller before. I have been with my sister who rented one. Yes if you leave for the afternoon you can get another stroller when you come back provided they are available. They usually are available. It isn't too bad to return at the end of the night. They have CMs at the stroller return area grabbing them from guests. However, I would rent from an offsite company. Those strollers are way more comfortable and cheaper than the ones you rent from Disney. As an added bonus you have them on the way to the bus and at the hotel. On our last trip, my 5 year old mostly walked. When she didn't was at the end of the night usually when she fell asleep. It would have been a long walk back to the bus if we had to carry her and a long walk back to the hotel room carrying her as well.

I will have single citi mini with us and and ergo carrier, since I need them for the airport.
We will only be at the parks less than 50% of our stay, and it will be not be all consecutive days. I thought about renting a double, but renting from an outside company for the whole stay will be more expensive for us than just renting from disney for 4 days. In the evenings I was planing of only taking my 5 yo in the citi mini (He barely fits in it BTW) and leave the baby at the resort with grandma. We are also doing a split stay, and I rather not have two strollers to lug around in between resorts.
During the day I was planning on maybe renting a disney stroller for my 5yo. Although I may not have to, since he can walk most of it and I can put the baby in the carrier if he really needs to rest.

We rented at the parks for our 2 four year olds and tiny 6 year old (double) and it worked out great. We didn't want a stroller outside of the parks and to deal with on buses, and never had to carry any of them. It was just a means to get them from point a to point b, a resting spot, somewhere to snack. It was more comfortable than a wagon, and just as easy for them to hop in and out I of. We hopped, and had no problem turning them in twice a day. We rope-dropped and took a mid-day break.

Stroller rentals from outside companies are key. The ones that they rent in the parks are not comfortable for the kiddos. We have used Kingdom Stroller and love them.
