Renting Avis at Hilton Disney Springs. Recent experiences?

Had to use the offer from that U n d e r c o v e r site that sells tickets and the deeply discounted car rental with purchase. Had to settle for the Hilton at DS which turned out to be the best deal for my schedule. I rented from there close to 5 years ago and would like to know if anyone has rented there recently with all of the chaos that is going on with car rentals lately. I reserved a mid size car. What was their availability? Did they have the car you reserved or did they tell you they were sold out? Did they only have a lower model than the one you reserved or did you get an upgrade b/c they didnt have your size? Just want to get a feel for what to expect since this is a pre paid rental and its the first time I had to go that way. Even if there is someone who is staying at the Hilton, maybe you could look at their designated parking spots to see how filled they are and what size cars are parked there?

You are asking a very specific question so I doubt many on here will have the input you are requesting. My guess is most going to Disney who fly into Orlando rent their car at the airport or the Disney car care center, not at Disney Springs.

Not very recent, but in 2019, we were there 3 times... 2 to pickup, and 1 to dropoff.

First time was a last min reservation to leave Orlando because of the hurricane. Took my parents less than an hour to take a MV over there from OKW, get the car, and drive back.

Second time was dropping off. That took less than 20 min overall.

Third time was Thanksgiving Eve 2019, and we were picking up the van, to drive home two days later. I'm still not sure what all happened, but long story short was the minivan they originally had assigned us couldn't be used for one-way rentals and they had to call the airport to drop off a minivan. The van was basically brand new at that point, so didn't have too many issues, but it's not fun sitting around for 2-3 hours waiting for an answer..

Stumbled upon this thread looking at rental options for October. Found a good deal, same as you, from Avis at Hilton Disney Springs.

My concern is with the current car shortage, and it being October where many people will be in Orlando for the 50th, if a hotel location is more likely to run out of vehicles than the airport.

@joxer1014 any chance you've taken your trip already and can report back? Otherwise maybe just bumping this thread for other's potential recent experiences here.

We just picked up there last week (dropped off at MCO). We had to wait a few moments for the desk clerk to return but there was no issue with getting the car. I’m still waiting for the charge to appear on my card (there are two pending charges that aren’t the right amount, so we’ll see what finally goes through).
