So we are renting points for our next vacation. It's our first time renting and we are thrilled! I have a few questions... Can we still book the DDP? Do i need to buy some coffee for the room to make??? Thanks so much!

The person that you are renting from needs to add the DDP to your reservation. The cost will be added to your room tab. You get some coffee, more on the 4th day, more on the 8th day. You can bring extra from home or buy some at the resort store. Have a great trip. :tinker:

If you're at all picky about your coffee, bring your own (along with some flat-bottomed 8-12 cup filters). The coffee "packets" that are supplied may not be to your taste. :)

This is probably a dumb question but hey I'm new to the renting of points...

Why does the person who owns the DVC need to add on things for us? If the ressie is in our name why cant i call and add on the DDP or park tickets? Just curious it seems strange to me since its all going to be paid for by us anyway... thanks for not flaming my stupidity lol

Your reservation is a private transaction between you and the DVC owner. (Disney /DVC is not involved and will not intervene if there is any dispute). The DVC owner retains full control of your reservation until you check in. (I believe CRO/WDWTC works the same way if you go through a Travel Agent).

DDP and ME options can only be added to a points reservation by calling Member Services. MS will only talk to the owner. That's just the way it is.

FWIW, DVC members can't add on any tickets to a points reservation until they check in. You can buy your tickets in advance from Disney or any reputable broker or you can just wait until check in. Your choice.

You can call Disney Dining and make your own ADRs, though.

Enjoy your stay -

I think it's because the contract is between the owner and Disney, not the guest and Disney. Officially, since Disney doesn't allow the owner to rent points, you are a guest of the owner. DVC MS doesn't want to deal with the owners guests.

Are you in a studio or a 1 bedroom? We always get groceries for our 1 bedroom full kitchen and save $$$ on eating out - do one or two ADR's then just eat when we want at our room the other days. When we stay in a studio, I get breakfast food (cereal, toast, tea) and take microwave popcorn, snacks, etc., then we eat out. Studios are great for those extra large meals we have out (like Wolfgang Puck Express), because we can store leftovers in the fridge and reheat them in the microwave the next day - two meals for the price of one!

Because the member owns the reservation and does until you check in. Anything that involves contacting DVC Member Services and the DDP does, will have to be done by the member.

We have a studio, its just DH & Me. I think I may bring some things with us but we are staying at CBR for 4 days before BWV so i dont want to have too much stuff. That microwave will fed come in handy with the leftovers we always seem to have and eat cold lol.

Thanks everyone for the help! I have another question concerning tickets... we will have a 9 day ticket from our outher ressie at CBR (its the cheaper way to buy the tickets) and so we will need a one day base ticket for the BWVs resie...do I wait to get it till we check in or do I add it with the rest of the package? Thanks so much!

Why do you think you need a 1 day base ticket? Why not just add a day to the hopper you are already getting? A 1 day ticket is a lot more expensive than adding a day.

I need it in order to have the DDP during out BWV stay, everyone in the room has to have at least a base ticket to get on the DDP, savvy?

Not when you are staying at DVC on points. DVC members are not required to have a ticket purchase, savvy. :thumbsup2

KatGarcia - It's true! DVC members (including their renters and guests) do not have to purchase any kind of ticket to add the DDP to their reservation. Nice, huh?

Should save you about $50 each since it only costs a few dollars to add a day to a MYW ticketand more than $50 for a single day ticket. So maybe that will make up (a little bit) for not being able to do some things yourself!
