Renting an ECV from Disney.

Do you need a picture ID? Will the Magic Band charging work for the rental? I have a girlfriends trip coming up in May. 2 of my friends will be using an ECV the whole time. I use a cane to walk with while at Disney because it feels safer to me, but I think I may want an ECV for our Epcot and MK days since they involve seeing the fireworks. I want to be sure I have what I need to rent at the park.

I would always have some form of ID on me you never know if you might need it. but I really do not know if you need your ID to rent an ECV I think you do since they do not rent to anyone under 18

Guests must be 18 years of age to operate and a photo ID is required to rent vehicles. The maximum weight is 450 pounds.

ID was required but you should always have your ID with you. Magic bands work for rentals. Epcot is a lot of walking!

Funny, they didn't ask to see either my or my father's ID when I rented one for him at Epcot last year. But neither of us look close to 18.
He was 83 then but people think he is about 70. He looks great for his age but his double knee replacement is getting old....about 12 yrs old...maybe more!
Guess it is like everything else. Depends on who is working.
