Is it worth it to rent a sedan for $68 +tip ($81) or one day car rental for $41 (MCO to car care ctr)? Will it save me a lot of time getting from MCO to ASMU? We are flying in at around 10pm? I would like to get to ASMU as soon as possible so we can hit the parks asap in the am. But.... I am not sure the time savings would be great enough to justify the cost? Has anyone had any experience with this? Mouse Savers says the ME will take 90 min. Drive time from MCO to WDW is 30 min? Does that sound right? :confused3 Thanks

I would have thought that renting the whole country of Sudan would cost more....... :rotfl2:

Having a towncar (sedan) pick you up would be a little bit of a treat and will save you some time. If the extra $20 is in the budget, I go with the Sedan.... though, you can use Magical Express and it is FREE. Average time is around 70 minutes, which can be the same as getting a car rental...

Duds - I was thinking the same thing. :lmao:

Anyway. If you rent a car and go to Car Care Center you have to get back some how. I am not too familiar with CCC so I don't know if they have shuttles and what not. You have to get your rental agreement and then go find the car and navigate yourself to the resort and then to CCC and then get back to resort. I think that sounds like a bit more time (and aggravation) than either DME or sedan service. At that hour you don't have the benefit of luggage service. You will grab your own bags. If you can spring for the car service it will bring you right to the door and save you a little time over DME. If you want no cost option (maybe tip the driver for baggage handling) DME will get you to your resort as well and for a lot less. For me renting a car would be the last choice of the three.

What airline? You're landing after 10p, you'll have to get your luggage. SW baggage claim is at the opposite corner from the DME desk. You'll have to shelp your bags back up to level three, walk to the opposite corner of MCO then go down to level one. I think a car service will get you (almost) halfway to WDW in the length of time it will take to just walk over to the DME desk.

I'd only use DME (after 10p) if I didn't have checked luggage or if my airline's baggage carousels are located directly above the DME desk.

I'd use a car service. I don't think it's worth the time you'll spend renting a car and then returning the car the next day.

(blush :upsidedow) You caught me doing several things at one time and not paying attention to my spelling:rolleyes1

Thanks for the information. :goodvibes We are flying SW. It is good to know that SW baggage is a hike.

No problem. We're just giving you a hard time. Have fun!

If you have the money then it's worth it to have a car. That way you don't have to rely on disney transportation the whole trip and if you ever wanted to leave property or had to go shopping, you could.

YAY for an OP who doesn't get offended!

I admit that I too giggled at your post (it is totally something I would do).

Sorry, I've never taken a sedan or flown SW into MCO, so I don't really have any advice, I was just so excited to see that you took the joking as it was meant that I had to comment.

I couldn't resist........

Just knew you guys could be counted on to make comment!!!

In any case....if it were me??? If I had the close to $70 to spend, I would hire a car service. No waiting for your rental car, no forms to fill out..yada yada. No worrying about driving in an unfamilier place, at night. If you get a car service, they will meet you in baggage claim, help you with your luggage, then you will be taken directly to the car, and driven right to your resort. It should take 'about' an hour, maybe a bit more.
If I were arriving at that time of day/night, and I couldn't use the baggage delivery service for DME, then I would just go with a car service. Yeah, I know it's 'nice' to have a car at WDW, but to perfectly honest, each time I have had one, I haven't used it other than to continue my trip when I left WDW.
