We're going to Disney, again, in August, and our oldest dd is autistic and also 8 yrs old 80 lbs.
We have been using a double stroller for her and our middle (she's 5 and only 40 lbs soaking wet) and obviously pushing the stroller max.

We will now have our oldest, our middle (who will probably still be 40 lbs) as well as our 1 yr old and I'm thinking of renting a "special needs stroller" from somewhere.

Does anyone have any experience with these strollers b/c we'll need our double one for our infant and middle girl.

thanks for any help:thumbsup2

In post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is information about off-site rental places for wheelchairs, ECVs and special needs strollers (you will need to scroll down a bit to find them).
People have posted good experiences with most of the providers listed there and there are several companies listed that rent special needs strollers.

We rented a SNS from Orlando Stroller Rentals last year, and while we loved it, there were a few cons.

Pros - Looks like an oversized jogging stroller, but with 4 wheels. Holds up to 100 pounds (I think?). Seat is fabric, nice and snug fitting. Has a sun shade, draping a blanket over that made a great "safe place" when he had to regroup. Easy to push. Huge basket for bags. Rated to tie-down on the buses.

Cons - Looks like a stroller. We had to explain, more than once, that it was in fact a special needs pushchair, not a stroller. Wound up having to get a "use stroller as wheelchair" sticker from GS, and still having to explain to some CMs.

We're debating right now if we are going to get this one again or a pedi wheelchair.

I’m curious which special needs stroller you rented. The one I know of that meets your description and can be rented from Orlando Stroller Rental is the Liberty Special Needs Pushchair.
The stroller in the link is not designed to be tied down on the buses, so I am curious what stroller you had. I’m not aware of any jogging type stroller that is designed for transport.
