Renting a house, help needed about the location

Hello,

I'm looking to rent a house for the last 2 weeks of August. I found one in Lake Berkley, Kissimmee, which seems to be quite close to Disney and there are other possibilities which seems to be further, some in Davenport, north or south of I-4, off the 27. I want to be able to go to the parks early in the morning, them go back to the villa in the afternoon, then back to the parks at dinner time.

Now, I read some posts about Lake Berkley where some say it's better not to go there because of the high traffic on the 192 and the roadworks. Will the works be over by August? Still, I guess I'd be better to be there, closer to WDW, than to go to Davenport, which seems to be more a 25-30 minutes drive, instead of the 15 minutes that are advertised. What is a "real" driving time figure from Lake Berkley to the Disney parks? Are there some shortcuts to avoid the traffic of the 192?

Thanks for any help.

I don't believe the contruction will EVER be done in 192. :)

Seriously, that end of 192 is terrible, in my opinion. If I were looking for a villa, I'd look for one on the "other side" of WDW, like near Formosa Gardens. Or I'd look into the ones on 27 (North of I-4) in Davenport.

I may be wrong, but I believe there are some villas for rent in Highlands Reserve, which is on US27 in davenport, close to the west end of 192.

There are several communities close to 192 west end on the 27 .
Why dion't you put in a general inquiry to one of the sites that will put you directly in touch with the owners ? If you would like details just ask

we stayed at hampton lakes nr davenport last year and my husband didnt mind the drive as the roads are so much better than ours in england....also we did go back to the villa to chill out a couple of times during the day..

We stayed in North Davenport on Route 27 and it took us 20 mins tops to get to the parks. It truly is not that far away and I agree that the west end of 192 is SO much easier to manuver around than the east end 192.
