Based off of your experience (not what it says on any website) how many suitcases (Large, but not over SW’s size and weight limit) can I fit in the back?

I have a Chevy Traverse which is comparable in size to a Ford Explorer. If you put the third row seat down, I would say you could probably fit 5 or so large suitcases conservatively, if you're willing to put them on top of each other. I think that would also leave room to put any carry on bags you may have too. There's very little cargo space if you need to leave the third row up for additional seating.

It depends if you need the 3rd row up or not. 3rd row up you can fit 2 large suitcases in the trunk.

3rd row down you can fit 6 large suitcases in the trunk, if you stack them.

You can also fold half the 3rd row and so you would be somewhere in between.

Are you renting from a Ford dealer, or frlm a rental agency where the description for that vehicle class is "Ford Explorer or similar"?

We won’t need the 3rd row. Thank you both!

We will be renting from Budget. Budget 10/10 times so far has had the vehicle they say we will be getting. They do have others on the lot to choose from though

Great that you've gotten the example vehicle every time so far. Just FYI, each Budget vehicle class states "[Make] [Model] or similar".

Definitely lots of room if you don’t need the third row! Most rentals are probably the last of the 2019s, like this, and not the new 2020s which are even bigger

If you get an “or similar” Chevy Traverse a.k.a. Minnie Van it’ll be even roomier.

Yep, very aware. Thanks! We have been renting cars for a long time :-)

I'll take that!!! I usually walk the aisle and come back to the counter to let them know what I want. Hopefully they have a Traverse. We are a Chevy family so all of the controls are familiar
