Renting a Car- When?

How far out from your vacation do you rent a car. We have never rented a car before and will only need it for the end of our WDW vacation. We will be renting from the Car Care Center on our last day at WDW and then returning it to MCO. I am an Emerald Club member, so I am getting a good discount.

Does it matter when you make your reservation, as far as pricing goes. We will need it from 7/20/10-7/23/10. Should I book it now or wait until it is closer?

I always start looking as soon as I know the dates of my trip. I started out with Alamo back in October when I first booked and have recently changed to Budget due to a huge rate difference. I am always on the lookout for a better deal.
I would start looking now if if was up to me. Our trip is also in July, but I am a huge over planner.

I am also a huge planner, my DH says obsessive

I will book now and then keep checking for better rates.
