My family and I are leaving Friday for London. I found a car rental site on-line:AutoEurope.com They have a VW Passat Wagon for $524 Basic and $771 Inclusive. Is this a reputable company? Is that a decent rate? Why get inclusive over basic?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks-Trish

I don't know where you will be in London but I would recommend using public transport instead of a car! Much easier, quicker and in Central London you have to pay congestion charges each time.

Unless you need a car to visit other parts of the country, avoid a car at all costs. (even then I'd recomend a train driving in the UK is much busier and a lot more hassle then driving in the USA.)

Its really not fun driving in London, much much quicker to get the tube or buses.

But regarding AutoEurope, they are fine. Not actualy a rental company more of a broker but fine all the same.

Usualy the difference between basic and inclusive, is they fill the tank of fuel and you can return it empty. Also they tend to up the insurance so you are not liable for anything. (check the policy on their site)

check out www.londontransport.co.uk for info on tube (subway) and busses in London
From Heathrow there is Heathrow Express into Victoria Station (15 mins) or the Tube. Taxi is very expensive
