Has anyone ever rented a car to drive from their homestate to Orlando? My niece seems to think that with unlimited mileage she can take it all the way to Florida for the the weekly rate. I checked Enterprise website and it says if you rent in Illinois free is covered for Wisconsin and Indiana after that there's a charge. Anyone tried this?:car:

I believe I rented from Enterprise to go to Pennsylvania from Massachusetts and they said that is as far as is included in the "free" mileage. After that, there would have been a charge and an extra cost for insurance, I believe.

Thanks so much, that's what I thought. I was just wondering what the final cost would be so she could add it to her "planning" numbers.

Two weeks ago, my daughter rented a car one way from Chicago after her flight was cancelled due to projected weather and they couldn't get her on a flight for two days (she was running the Princess Half Marathon and that was too late). She rented from Budget and was not charged extra for miles. She was charged an extra fee for a one way rental.
We have rented one way from Alamo (Ft Myers to Chicago) and weren't charged for miles - in fact our rental price was extremely low as we rented in the spring when they wanted to get the extra cars out of FL that they have during the "season". You can sometimes get some good one way rates in the fall to FL and in the spring from FL.
