I have seen several people on here that are planning on doing this, and I'm wondering where you are renting your car from? DH and I are finding expensive "drop" fees for returning a rental in Vegas, so I'm trying to find an economical solution!

Thank you!

I'd guess most of the people are getting thier car at the airport.

I highly suggest if you are not going to other places in SoCal, you don't need a rental at DLR or in LV.

Around DL are several close rental desks with shuttles to thier lots. Alamo, Hertz, Dollar, and more.

We were planning on spending 4 days at DL, then one day in LA (with rental car) and then driving to Vegas the next morning. I was kind of looking forward to the drive and maybe stopping in some scenic places along the way.

Right now, DH has a car booked through his company, but it only gives us 300 miles and then it's .25/mile after that. No drop fees, so that's good, but we might rack up enough extra miles to equal a drop fee.

Yeah you might search for something else.

In Vegas will you be going to Hoover Dam, that add $25. But it will probably only sit. See if when you drop it in vegas if the airport shuttle can take you to your hotel, if its on the strip they are usually fine with it.

I'm planning on doing 3 days in DL, then renting a car and driving to LV. National car rental near DTD doesn't charge the fees according to the web site.
