I'll need two box fans as I an flying and we cannot sleep without them. Where is the best place to rent and what is the cost?

This I have no clue and hopefully someone will know or have better suggestions. Is there a market for renting fans? How long are you staying? Would it be cheaper to just buy two at Walmart/Publix and leave them behind? We have done this with beach chairs. Just a thought.

Do you need it just for the noise? I sleep with a fan too but we travel with a Dohm white noise machine. Fits perfect in a suitcase and travels well. :)

Does it have to be a box fan? I have a small fan that I pack, but it is only a little bigger than the palm of my hand. If that doesn't work, buy a fan while you are on vacation, or download a white noise ap to your phone.

I tried to get a box fan from housekeeping with no success once. Since then I bought a Dohm sound machine from Bed Bath and Beyond and use that. It works well and I'm the type that needs loud fan noise to help. White noise apps do NOT work for me but the Dohm produces actual fan noise, not a recording of a fan.

If your hotel does not have any, cab to Walmart and pick up two cheap ones...

I like the Walmart on SR 535. The address is 3250 Vineland rd. Kissimee Florida 34746 phone:1-407-3971125

This is the closest Walmart to WDW. They have groceries, fresh produce, a nice liquor selection, a pharmacy and all the usual Walmart items like fans, pool noodles, coffee/tea makers etc. They also have a nice selection of low priced Disney brand apparel for money saving souvenirs.

It is about $20-25 ONE way by Mears Cab and LESS going by UBER.

We were able to get box fans at GF, just call week ahead for request and remind them at check in.

If it is something you must have and isn't standard equipment in the room I would either bring it with me, ship it to the resort, or buy it at the nearby Walmart or Target. The resort might have it available, but most likely it is not something you can reserve in advance and is available on a first come first serve basis once you arrive so there's no guarantee it will be available when you arrive.

We also use fans at home and I can not sleep with out one. I won't chance that the hotel will not have one for me, so I just add one to my gardengrocer order.

We do the exact same thing! Order one from Garden Grocer and then leave it behind. I'm sure someone else gets use out of it.

When you get in your room call housekeeping and ask them to bring 2 up for you. No charge.

This is true, but not all resorts have them. I've gotten them at Pop and CR, however when I asked at Port Orleans, I was told they didn't have any as they have ceiling fans. - You may want to see if you find a direct number to the actual resort to see if it's something they generally have on-hand.

Even a "direct number" to a resort takes you to the call center. They answer as if you reached the front desk, but you haven"t. Therefore, I wouldn't trust what the person on the other end tells you.
